Frequently Asked Questions About Further Leave to Remain

Do I need an immigration lawyer?

While it's not mandatory to hire an immigration lawyer for visa applications, having expert guidance can significantly increase your chances of success. Immigration laws are complex and constantly changing, and even small mistakes in your application can lead to delays or rejection. An immigration lawyer can help you navigate the process, ensure all documentation is correct, and represent you if complications arise.

What is the cost of an Immigration Lawyer / Solicitor?

The cost of immigration legal services varies depending on the complexity of your case and the type of service you require. We offer different packages tailored to different needs and budgets. For a specific quote related to your situation, we recommend booking a free initial consultation where we can assess your needs and provide transparent pricing information.

Can you help me with my visa if I am living overseas?

Yes, we regularly assist clients who are outside the UK. We can conduct consultations via video call (Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp) or phone, and handle your application remotely. Our team is experienced in managing overseas applications and can guide you through the entire process no matter where you are located.

When should I apply for Further Leave to Remain?

You should apply for Further Leave to Remain before your current leave expires. Ideally, you should submit your application at least 28 days before your current visa is due to expire. Applying too late could result in becoming an overstayer, which can have serious implications for future applications. We recommend starting the process at least 3 months before your current leave expires to allow sufficient time for preparation and processing.

What happens if my Further Leave to Remain application is rejected?

If your Further Leave to Remain application is rejected, you may have the right to appeal the decision, apply for an administrative review, or make a fresh application addressing the reasons for refusal. The specific option available to you will depend on the grounds for rejection. Our immigration lawyers can help you determine the best course of action and guide you through the process. It's important to act quickly once you receive a refusal decision, as there are often strict time limits for appeals and reviews.
